WHAT WE DO:
The Al Berard Memorial Fund at CFA has granted approximately $40,000 to music organizations throughout Acadiana.  Here are some organizations that have benefited from the fund:  St. Martin Parish Gifted/Talented Music Program;  Lafayette Parish Gifted/Talented Music Program;  Lafayette’s Tipitina’s Foundation; The Shining Light Foundation; Atchafalaya Basinkeepers; Louisiana Folk Roots Summer Kids Camp; NUNU Arts & Culture Collective;  and Teche Center for the Arts.
Our future goals include more scholarships to High School Seniors that plan to have a future in music/arts, and to have a competitive grant cycle where other non-profit groups can apply for grants; specifically those geared toward music and art promotion.

3rd Annual Al Berard Festival:
The festival will be held on December 3, 2016 at NUNU Arts & Culture Collective in Arnaudville, LA from noon-8pm.  It will be a day filled with live music, a silent auction, vendor booths, delicious food trucks, art, culture, and more.   We hope to see you there!

WHO WE ARE
The Al Berard Music Festival is a fundraising event for the Al Berard Memorial Music Fund at Community Foundation of Acadiana (CFA).  The fund directly supports Acadiana’s unique musical culture by providing instruments, master teachers, and music scholarships to students of all ages.  We also support community based organizations that support our rich culture.  The fund honors the late Al Berard, who was a mentor for music lovers everywhere.  His passion was to teach everyone about his love for music and the Cajun/Creole culture in which he lived.  Through this fund his passion lives on today.
